SURREY CRICKET
COACH EDUCATION PROGRAMME 2007/2008
Surrey Cricket recognises that Coach
Education plays a pivotal role in the overall
development of cricket within the county. We will run
various courses throughout the winter months to expand
and improve our existing coaching base.
ECB Coaching Assistant (UKCC 1)
These courses (15 hours + assessment)
will help you to assist more qualified coaches,
delivering aspects of coaching sessions, normally under
direct supervision. This may include running warm ups /
cool downs, small sided games and small group work.
The target audience for this course is:

Parents helping out at club junior
sections
·
Volunteers working in club junior
sections
·
Adults assisting club coaches on club
junior practice nights
ECB Coach (UKCC 2)
The role of the ECB Coach Award (UKCC 2)
holder is to be able to
“Prepare for, deliver and review coaching sessions”.
This course (24 hours +
10 hours supervised coaching + assessment) will help you
to be able to:

Introduce and develop the game of
cricket to people of all ages in an enjoyable way

Develop FUNdaMENTAL movement skills
-
Develop and improve players (as
people as well as cricketers) particularly at FUNdaMENTAL
and Learning to Train stages of the LTAD model

Develop your coaching skills,
knowledge and qualities
The target audience for this course is
people with previous experience of playing / coaching
cricket. You are not required to hold an ECB level I
certificate prior to attending this course.
ECB Head Coach (UKCC 3)
The Head Coach qualification will combine
material covered in the previous ECB Level II and ECB
Level III qualifications. This course is due to go
“live” in November 2006.
