Tadworth 2nd X1-177 for 8 declared
Albury 2nd X1-98 all out
Tadworth 2nd X1 won by 79 runs
Visitors Albury won the toss and in damp unpleasant conditions asked
Tadworth to bat.
The slow outfield made runs hard to get but openers Mark Barrett and skipper Gary Sewell gave Tadworth the ideal start by putting on 56 for the first wicket.
After Barrett was dismissed the home side staggered a bit but when Ross Dodsworth joined Sewell at the crease the pendulum swung back in Tadworths favour. The pair put on 71 and when Dodsworth eventually went for a vital 17 Tadworth were comfortable at 151 for 4.
Sewell went on to make 89 before falling to Westbrook, who was the best of the Albury bowlers taking 4 for 42.
At 177 for 8 Tadworth closed their innings giving the visitors plenty to do in the conditions.
Tadworth had an early breakthrough taking a wicket in the first over and although Albury took the bowlers on, keeping up with the rate required, wickets continued to fall.
Chalkly 2 for 31 and Griffiths 2 for 20 had the early successes but Aston [33] and Hern [20] then showed some middle order resistance.
The introduction however of newcomer Kevin Benton put an end to the resistance and his 3 for 13 carried the home side through to a comfortable victory Albury being all out for 98.
Ian Napier although still only a novice in the wicket keeper position showed further promise by taking three sharp catches and assisting in a run out.

Holmbury St. Mary 1st XI 82 all out
Tadworth win by 102 runs
On a damp, cold day at Holmbury St. Mary Tadworth 1st XI lost the toss,
and were asked to bat.
After a delayed start, Tadworth got off to a brisk start, with 22 coming off the first 4 overs. R Bennett (10) was the first batsman to fall, nicking one to the ‘keeper off Hombury bowler Croom.
Tadworth skipper Grierson (16) fell soon after to a sharp catch in the gully off Mayer.
A period of tight bowling by Holmbury bowlers Finch (2-26) and Croom (1-55) saw the fall of T Bennett (33) and Mason (9), reducing Tadworth to 87 for 4 off 27 overs.
This brought Stevenson and Waldron to the crease and
their fine partnership of 59 in 12 overs eased Tadworth to 146 off 39
overs. With Tadworth eager to earn bonus points Waldron was caught at
long-off for 21. But Stevenson was in fine form, dispatching bowlers to
all parts of the ground on his way to a magnificent 70, a wonderful
innings in light of the conditions, and helped Tadworth reach a final
total of 184-9 off 45 overs.
After a much needed cup of tea and a break from the cold, it was
Holmbury St. Mary’s turn to bat on a damp track.
The new ball moved about considerably, and this caused the Holmbury batsmen much anguish, and they were reduced to 47-5 thanks to some excellent bowling from the Tadworth openers Jenkins (4-25) and Hardy (3-22). Holmbury did offer some resistance with captain Littlejohns (20) and Lathern (22) putting together a late partnership, but both were caught at square leg off Tadworth bowler Waldron (2-15).
A strong bowling display from Tadworth saw Holmbury
St. Mary all out for 82, with Tadworth claiming 39 points.
